DIY Agate Pendant – How to make a stone necklace without drilling

Today I am sharing my DIY Agate Pendant Tutorial or How to Make a Stone Necklace Without Drilling! Two weeks ago I visited Space Center Houston with some BurdaStyle girls when they were in town for the Quilt Market. (By the way, they just posted some pictures I took of the quilters’ amazing craftsmanship.) At the end of the day, we went to the gift shop to buy astronaut ice cream (not nearly as good as I remembered from my childhood in memory!) and I found a wide variety of stones. This agate slice was only $1.65.

Isn’t it pretty? I threaded it onto a length of 2mm blue elastic and kept it simple by tying overhead knots on each side so the length is adjustable.

The hardest part was figuring out how to attach the cable. I used E6000 to glue a small loop of wire to the top of the back and covered the glue and wire with a tiny piece of clear plastic.

Total cost? Less than $5.
