How to Make Concrete Candle Holders – Easy Tutorial

If you want to have the very best in concrete furniture, the best place to start is reading this article. We will try to give me some tips on how to make the best candle holders without spending a penny. You just have to follow these important steps and with these concrete candle holders you definitely get the best of both worlds when it comes to ease of use and design.

Important materials:

Before we go any further, here are some of the materials you need to have first before you can do anything else. Hopefully you’ll be able to get all of these materials sooner rather than later.

  • Recycled Bottles
  • A medium sized bucket
  • sifter
  • concrete mix
  • scissors
  • A small saw
  • A razor blade
  • cooking spray
  • plastic container (small)
  • Wooden washers

The first thing to do is make sure you remove the labels from the plastic bottles. Next, you should rinse them thoroughly and let them dry.

After that, you can make them a little cleaner by wiping the bottles with a clean cloth.

Use a small saw to remove the plastic from the top:

The next step would be to sort out some rocks in the concrete itself. You can use the sieve for that.

You can use the washers to support the concrete bucket. However, this is optional depending on the size of your bucket.

They should leave finer particles in the bucket. You can either put the stones in a bag or sack or throw them in the garden for later use.

Then you should spray the candles or a plumber’s pipe on both ends with some cooking spray to prep them.

After that, you should mix the concrete according to the instructions. Depending on the situation, you may need to add more water. Do this in a small plastic container.

Pour the concrete mix into the bottles. Remember to leave some space at the top.

After that, you can wash out the other container and save it for another project.

Insert the tubes into the bottles and let them dry overnight. You may find the next day that the top of the bottle has dried out while the bottom appears to be still damp. This is because the bottom part hasn’t been exposed to as much air and is therefore still a bit wet. But now it is usable.

Then you can use a razor blade to peel off the rest of the plastic and pull the hoses out.

Let them dry again overnight. It’s your choice whether to grind it or not. You can also paint over the bottles or leave them as is.
